Downtown Raleigh will be full of action this weekend.  Starting Thursday, September 15 through Sunday, September 18, 2011.

SPARKcon is  a group of volunteers dedicated to showcasing local talent and nurturing a creative ecosystem within the NC Triangle area. SPARKcon is a program of Visual Art Exchange, a Raleigh non-profit dedicated to supporting emerging artists and connecting the community to the arts.

The fireSTARTERS are the managers (for lack of a better word) of the overall event and schedule. Firestarters also comprise branding, staging and green efforts folks. All of the individual SPARK teams are people embedded within various creative scenes and creating events to showcase those scenes.

There are new SPARKs each year. Each is led by volunteers who want to showcase the best talent in their field and help spread the word about their own creative community to the greater Triangle!

Cary NC Lazy Daze Festival 2011 has been cancelled - Hurricane Irene is the reason.  35th Annual Lazy Daze in Cary is not happening this year!
