This song has me thinking about all those days just just flew past so quickly...

My daughter is a Mom of a 2 year old - wasn't it just yesterday that my daughter was 2 years old?

My middle son is a business owner - designing, marketing and manufacturing jeans in NC with NC denim.  Small local business at it's best.  Wasn't it just yesterday that he was all muddy in the back yard playing Tonka trucks?

My youngest is a successful computer nerd, photographer and handsome/smart/very kind man.  Wasn't it just yesterday he was playing "nintendo" and biting the big brother in defense?  :-)

One day my Grandma (Baba) was out, and my Grandpa (Pappy) was in charge of me...(can you tell from my eyes that I'm a bit innovative??)

I am maybe 2  years old. Someone has given me a little 'tea set' as a gift, and it's one of my favorite.

Grandpa (Pappy)  was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I brought him a little cup of 'tea', which was just water.

After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my Baba came home. (Men do like being waited on, no matter what our age!)

My Pappy made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea, because it was 'just the cutest thing!'

Baba waited...and sure enough, here I came down the hall with a cup of tea for Pappy! She watched him drink it up and thank me for such wonderful "tea".

Then she said, (as only a Grandma would know)....

"Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach to get water is the toilet?"

Thursday was going along as a regular day.  I'd just ended the 31 Day May Challenge (that I messed up on 2 days) so I won't get the "points".  But a great learning experience.

Coffee and computer in the morning.

I got a call that an agent was writing an offer on one of my listings, and would I send her disclosures. Hooray!

And then it started... Potential offer on house...oh, the buyer's changed their minds.

Oh, as I was busy setting appointments online for the next day - the computer DIED!  Just went black.  Done. = "Honey, can I use your computer for just a few minutes? Please?"    "Sure you can; soon as I get this item done in about 10 minutes."  I take a shower, I put on makeup, I'm dressed & ready to go -- 45 minutes later.  "Honey, can I please use your computer?"  YOU know the rest of the story, right?

Oh, and in the morning the coffee pot doesn't work!!!...the morning brew overflowed because the pot wasn't put under it.  And the electronics are fried.

Now in the scheme of life, none of these things are a big deal.  This is not a head-on collision on the Raleigh Beltline!

Thoughts for the day:

Listing offer:   GLAD I had not called the seller to tell them an offer was coming.  

Coffee pot:  If you put the filter in and coffee; heat up the water in the microwave and pour into basket.  Wait a few minutes...I learned that the coffee is much better than when the pot worked!  You know, the French press type :-)

Computer:  I'm typing this post on my NEW MacBook!  And even though I was using hand-me-down Mac for about a year, I didn't take the time to learn much about it.  NOW I'm going to One-on-One at the Apple store, and going to become a Mac Wiz!

There are always silver linings - no matter what comes along.

High school BFF from Steinert High School in Hamilton NJ found each other on Facebook.
Joanne and Nellie (that's me)  grew up within a block of each other.  The elementary school was closer to Joanne's than Nellie's.
Middle school is a blur at this time.  And then High School....

Steinert High School in Hamilton NJ - GREAT friends for the 4 years.... Joanne was a bridesmaid in my wedding - just 2 weeks after I turned 20 years old (WHAT was I thinking???) 

Joanne and I lost touch.  10, 15, 20 and more years went by.....and then one day I received something on Facebook from her!
So many lifetimes have happened in between but...

when Joanne & Sean came to the Raleigh NC area to look around at housing, I was the Realtor they chose to work with.  Old BFF's stand strong!  Even though we'd not talked in years, she still trusted me!  She knew that I would share all of my knowledge of the area. She knew that I would tell the truth & not just "sell" her something.

You should have heard us - it only took 30 minutes before we were back to "normal" - kidding around, giving each other a hard time, laughing & sharing our lives.

And thank goodness it was them that I was with when the car ran out of gas on I-40 !!!   Unreal!  I'm moving along at 70 mph and the car starts puttering.....I get into the way right lane.....I'm stepping on the gas and the car's slowing down!  WHAT is going on???
The fuel tank says 1/2 full.  The lights are still on.  The radio is singing......
Thankfully I was able to pull over to the shoulder.  Tried starting the car up. NOTHING!  Sean chimes in "maybe you're out of gas".

DUH! 

SURE AM GLAD THAT IT HAPPENED WITH JOANNE & SEAN IN THE CAR, AND NOT SOMEONE I HAD TO 'IMPRESS' FIRST TIME OUT LOOKING AT HOMES!!!!
